Change in Opening Hours

We've had a slight change in opening hours during the week, we'll be open

9am till 5pm Tuesday to Friday from now on. 

Christmas Bread Orders

Last Christmas we struggled to get production right just before Christmas, some days we'd have loads of bread leftover at the end of the day and others we'd sell out within an hour. We found predicting demand very difficult and on several days didn't get it right. This year we'll be taking orders for bread to be picked up on the 24th. 

Every day up to and including the 23rd will be walk in bread sales as normal at the bakery and Furrow. On the 24th we'll be selling pre-ordered bread only, you will not be able to walk in the buy bread, but you'll be able to order as much as you like for pick up at either location. We'll be closed until January 5th, so order now to make sure you've got some supplies to see you through to new year.

I'd like to reitterate, there will be no walking bread sales on the 24th, it will be pre-order only. 

Introducing Furrow

As you may or may not know, we're about to open a new cafe and shop on Allerton Road. We've been trading there for over a year now as a temporary shop, and after lots of positive comments from customers, we decided to take the next step and open up something more permanent. 

We'd like to introduce you to Furrow, a cafe that will follow the same principals as the bakery, focusing the food around our award winning bread, but also allow us to develop a broader more interesting menu. We'll still be making everything fresh from scratch, but having a full kitchen will allow us to do things that aren't possible at the bakery. 

We'll still be selling all the usual bread, buns and doughnuts, six days a week, but there'll be new treats to temp you, and great coffee, teas and drinks. Please follow our Twitter and Facebook pages for more info.

A passion for good food essential. We are looking for a chef to join our busy bakery and cafe, 35 hours a week, competitive pay rate. Day time hours only, no evenings. Will include weekends.

  • management of cleaning and adhering to health and safety regulations

Christmas Opening Times

Main Bakery

Our Bridgewater Street bakery and cafe will be open these following times over the Christmas, if you are looking for something special such as fresh stollen or mince pies etc, you can pre order pastry and sweet things, see here.  Pre-ordering pastry items is highly recommended, there will be limited supply available at the bakery and we wouldn't want you to be disappointed. 

Saturday 20th 10am - 4pm (Also at Lark Lane market 9am till 2pm)

Sunday 21st 10am - 4 pm

Monday 22nd 9am - 5pm

24th December till 5th January CLOSED

Chef Vacancy

We're Hiring a Chef

We are currently looking for a chef to join our team at Bakehouse Kitchen. 

Experience is necessary, the position is part time around 20 hours per week, including weekend and evenings. This is an opportunity to join an exciting and growing team in a modern successful business.

We're Hiring a Baker

We are looking for a part time baker to join our team, this is primarily a bread baking position but some knowledge of pastry baking would be useful. You must have professional baking experience or training, knowledge of slow fermentation or sourdough baking is useful but not essential. The role is for 15 - 20 hours per week, including some early mornings and weekends, hours will vary, we offer a competitive salary.
